What Is an Applicant Tracking System (ATS)?
An Applicant Tracking System (ATS) is software Australian employers and recruitment agencies use to receive, organise and search job applications. It can extract details such as your employment history, qualifications, skills and contact information so recruiters can review large applicant pools more efficiently.
ATS platforms are common among government agencies, recruitment firms and medium-to-large organisations, including employers in mining, construction, healthcare, logistics, engineering and professional services. A resume that uses readable text, standard headings and clearly relevant experience is easier for both the system and the recruiter to understand.
Every employer configures its system differently. There is no universal ATS score, and no score can guarantee an interview or rejection. What file types can I upload?
Upload a PDF or DOCX resume up to 10 MB. Password-protected, scanned or damaged files may not contain enough readable text to assess.
What is the difference between the two scores?
ATS Compatibility uses fixed checks for structure, readability, contact details and role alignment. Resume Effectiveness uses AI-assisted analysis to provide brief feedback about clarity, evidence and relevance. The AI does not calculate the ATS Compatibility score.
How is my resume information used?
Detected contact details are removed from extracted text before AI-assisted assessment where possible. Automated assessment data is deleted after 60 days. The original resume is stored only if you explicitly request a personal review. See our privacy policy for full details.
